By The People: Traditions in Dialogue— Indigenous Pacific Northwest Weaving

Join us for a captivating conversation featuring six talented Indigenous weavers from across the Pacific Northwest as we explore the art of weaving and its rich cultural significance. This vibrant art form serves not only to connect tribes through shared traditions but also showcases the unique practices of each tribe.

This program features alumni from the Heritage Arts Apprenticeship program, who have spent a year training under master weavers. They will share their insights into techniques like cedar bark and Raven’s Tail wool weaving, reflecting on the intergenerational knowledge that sustains these treasured traditions.
