Contact Improvisation Class | Weekly with Rotating Teachers

🌟 Welcome to a unique weekly drop-in class in Contact Improvisation (CI) Technique training! This class runs all year long with a rotation of skilled teachers. Join us for a 2.5-hour journey of discovery through technical exercises and BodyMind (Somatic) practices that culminate in exciting jam-like moments.

🤸‍♂️ In this class, you'll explore:

• The use of breath, weight, and skeletal alignment to enhance your movement.
• Techniques for following points of contact and safely taking, giving, and lifting weight with others.
• Embracing the beauty of being in a state of not knowing while tuning into the subtle impulses of the moment.
• The philosophical and relational aspects of CI.

👤 This session welcomes both beginners and experienced dancers. Prior to each new teaching block, we’ll share information on our rotating instructors to inform you about their different focuses. Each week provides the flexibility to engage with the exercises at your own experience level.

🌍 Classes will be conducted in English or Swedish, depending on the instructor and students' needs.

🔍 A bit about CI: Developed in the 1970s by Steve Paxton and others in the U.S., this dance form draws from martial arts, Zen meditation, and post-modern dance. Its essence lies in discovering how to move with gravity while listening to your points of contact with the environment.

• Single class: 250kr
• 5-class clip card: 1000kr
• 10-class clip card: 1500kr
