Evening of Collective Rhythm: happy hour, AI & DJ set

The Saturday evening of Dancetopia opens a space where transcendence, AI, and collective experience meet on shifting ground.

It begins with a panel bringing together DANCETOPIA artists and curators. This happy hour invites the audience to reflect on the festival themes of authenticity and artificiality through the experiences and practices of the performing and workshop-leading artists. The panel format creates space for exchange and dialogue, offering a unique opportunity to experience the participating artists in one collective and structured conversation, beyond the informal encounters of the festival’s shared events.

The program continues with TERMINAL; dances for organ by Katrina E. Bastian, an urgent inquiry into the human instinct toward transcendence in the age of artificial intelligence. This AI-modified choreography traces a path from the ostentation of court spectacle, through religious reverence and into contemporary club culture, arriving at the recursive loops of algorithmic desire. Accompanied by the powerful organ, three dancers offer their movements in a process of data extraction, questioning whether their encounter with AI becomes a shared ritual or an amplification of longing for something beyond themselves.

The evening culminates in a common dance floor sharing with a DJ set by Jaro Viňarský, an open invitation to move together. This shared space shifts the focus from watching to doing, from individual experience to collective rhythm. Whether you come to dance, observe, or simply be present, the floor becomes a site of connection, release, and mutual energy.
