This heartwarming 2002 British comedy-drama tells the story of Jess (played by Parminder Nagra), a young girl in London who dreams of becoming a professional soccer player, much to the dismay of her traditional Indian family. As her elder sister Pinky (Archie Panjabi) prepares for an Indian wedding, Jess finds herself torn between following her passion for soccer and adhering to her family’s expectations. When her best friend Jules (Keira Knightley) encourages her to try out for a pro team, Jess faces a pivotal decision that challenges familial traditions and her personal dreams.
