Thundering out of Santa Cruz’s vibrant music scene, First Day Back has carved a niche in the emo revival movement. With echoes of Cap'n Jazz, the intricate melodies of American Football, and the youthful energy of Braid, they bring a fresh twist with the inclusion of violin and harmonica.

🎧 Their debut album, Forward, was a labor of love, recorded in their Empire Grade house living room where the sentimental blue album cover reflects the heart of their roots. Pitchfork described it as, "... a transparency usually reserved for private moments: screaming into a pillow in your bedroom, or putting your hoodie up to stress-cry on the bus."

Join us for an evening where the quintet's DIY spirit shines through, as they share their journey from house shows to sold-out tours supporting bands like Algernon Cadwallader and Everyone Asked About You. Get ready to sing along to every word!
