About Downtown Charlie Brown:

Discover the true essence of the blues with Downtown Charlie Brown, a multi-talented performer expertly blending keyboard and slide guitar. He shares not only his music but also the rich history and social significance of the blues and its legendary artists like Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Pinetop Perkins.

Charlie began his musical journey at the young age of 6 in a small Baptist Church in Morristown, New Jersey. A graduate of Lehigh University, he is also a member of its athletic hall of fame for basketball and holds an advanced degree in secondary education.

Having developed his unique style in Kansas City before settling in Chicago, Charlie's passion for Delta and Chicago blues shines in his performances. He is affectionately known as “Chicago’s Delta” by American Blues Scene Magazine and has been featured in Living Blues and BG Blues and Music News magazines.

In 1995, he founded the Downtown Charlie Brown Blues Band and regularly performs throughout Chicagoland, often gracing the stage at Buddy Guy’s Legends. Charlie not only entertains but also educates, teaching economics and business at Marmion Academy and offering lectures called Blues in the Schools.
