Join us at the State Historical Museum of Iowa for our Summer Family Fridays! ☀️ Immerse yourself in hands-on crafts, themed scavenger hunts, and guided tours from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. on select Fridays throughout the summer! Each week is a brand new theme, offering exciting ways to explore Iowa history together!

Weekly Themes:

• 🏛️ June 5 | All About the Museum: Scavenger hunt, museum-inspired crafts, and behind-the-scenes collections tour.
• ✈️ June 12 | Planes, Wagons and Automobiles: Hands-on activities and themed scavenger hunt focusing on transportation history.
• ✊ June 19 | Juneteenth and the Civil War: Learn about freedom and courage through activities and a guided tour highlighting Black Iowans’ contributions to history.
• 🇺🇸 June 26 | Revolutionary Iowans: Celebrate those who personified life, liberty, and happiness through crafts and guided tours.
• 🎂 July 10 | America 250: Themed activities for America's 250th birthday – share your birthday wishes!
• 🚂 July 17 | Early Iowa Statehood: Explore Iowa’s pioneer era with activities, games, and a guided tour.
• 🎨 July 24 | Art and Portraits: Discover the stories behind art in the museum through guided tours and themed scavenger hunts.
