Join us at Glue Gallery for an exciting opportunity designed for art enthusiasts aged 9–11! This isn’t just any class; it takes place inside a vibrant, working art gallery filled with real paintings and creative artists.
Led by the talented artist Laura Loving, this workshop invites young creatives in 4th through 6th grade for a focused, art-filled two-hour adventure. Each participant will leave with a completed artwork and newfound skills in creating, discussing, and appreciating art.

*Class size is limited to just 6 students, ensuring personalized attention! No prior skills are needed—just a passion for art and an eagerness to learn and make new friends!
Workshop: Create and Critique
Under Laura Loving's guidance, students will:
- Critique two artworks from the gallery and delve into their assignment for the day.
- Create their masterpieces inspired by the analyzed pieces.
- Share their work with the class, participating in a thoughtful critique of each creation.
Schedule Breakdown:
- Part 1: Welcome, intro & study (20 mins)
- 0:00–0:05 — Arrival, settle, name tags, greet fellow artists
- 0:05–0:20 — Introduce activity and goals; discuss 2 example artworks; explain basic art critique ideas (describe, interpret, evaluate) and outline the objective of the day’s assignment.
- Part 2: Art creation (60 mins)
- 0:20–1:20 — Students create their pieces; instructor will demonstrate key techniques and support each student's creative process.
- Part 3: Class critique (25 mins)
- 1:20–1:45 — Students present their work (1–2 minutes each), engage with guided questions from the instructor, and receive positive feedback along with one suggestion for improvement.
- Part 4: Clean-up & Social (15 mins)
- 1:45–1:59 — Tidy up, put away materials, and enjoy a moment of socializing before departure.
- 2:00 — Ready for parent pick-up.
