Herna pro děti 1,5–5 let s dospělými: Asawa
Ruth was the fourth of seven children born to Umakichi and Haru Asawa, who had emigrated from Japan to America. Six days a week, she worked on the family farm, and in her spare moments she examined plants and spiral snail shells, observing the world through the eyes of insects. She watched spiders mending their webs early in the morning and, while watering the garden, gazed at the sun through droplets of water suspended on the tips of pine needles. She loved to sit on the back of a horse-drawn cart and draw shapes in the sand with her bare feet.
Herna concludes the second phase of preparations for the participatory theater installation *ASAWA&. The project is inspired by the life and work of an American-Japanese sculptor who sought to fully integrate art, education, and community engagement.
Artist Apolena Vanišová, along with instructors Blanka and Kačka, invites you to join this playful community.
Bring your children to the gallery! Discover a space where both you and your children will have fun
Herna is a generous and open format for parents and their children, where they can play, create, and discover art together through a series of interactive activities. Each week focuses on a different theme, works of art, or experimental approaches by artists. Included in the admission price is a visit to a thematically related exhibition or section of the Trade Fair Palace’s collection.
The Playroom is not intended for groups of children from preschools or daycare centers. For groups of children from all types of preschools, it is possible to book programs upon request.
