Sobre el evento

What do coffee and culture have in common?
Dive into the fascinating world of coffee, a thriving global industry, as it connects farmers, importers, roasters, and baristas across the globe. In the heart of the Bay Area, Oakland emerges as a vital port city, influencing how coffee journeys from bean to cup.
Simultaneously, Oakland stands as a vibrant center of Black cultural production, nurturing generations of artists, activists, and creatives who have significantly shaped local music, politics, and identity.
Join Taylor Brandon as she examines the intertwined journeys of the coffee business and Black culture in Oakland. This enlightening talk uncovers the networks of labor, creativity, and exchange that define both realms, offering fresh insights into the interplay of culture and commerce. ☕✨
