island bound: film screening & listening party
Join us for the World Premiere of ISLAND BOUND, a groundbreaking short film directed by Sami See! Immerse yourself in a unique blend of sound and visuals with a live musical performance of the film score by Pinay Voltron.
🌟 Experience an experimental journey that beautifully intertwines fantasy and relational resilience through the lens of the female body and island landscapes. The film documents the inspiring stories of queer-femme Filipina performing artists like Paula Bianca, Sami See, and Mistress Joyen, as they explore the question: When a flood meets your island, how will you move? With stunning artistic expressions including aerial hammock, underwater dance, rope flow, and roller skating, this event promises to be unforgettable.
🎶 Witness the film score performed live, including a hybrid atmospheric sound bath that combines percussive meditation, jungle vibes, and orchestral strings, enriching the film's visuals!
👉 Plus, enjoy a special performance by Spain-based artist Mistress Joyen and stay tuned for more exciting goodies to be announced!
