The Sewing Workshop Experience
We invite you into the Jaqkodí studio for a refined, small-group sewing experience. Within this private setting, you will be guided through the foundations of sewing while creating your own Jaqkodi Tote Bag, crafted from carefully selected off-cuts sourced directly from our studio.
Each piece reflects our commitment to precision, material consciousness, and longevity. This is not simply a workshop: it is an introduction to the discipline and intention behind making.
Hosted by Jaqkodi and led by RCA fashion designer Lois Sarkodie, the atelier offers a slowed, immersive environment designed to honour both process and detail. The atmosphere is thoughtfully curated;  from sound to setting ; creating space to focus, learn, and create with intention.

What You Will Learn

Insight into sustainability, material impact, and responsible design
What to consider when investing in a sewing machine
How to select appropriate needles and threads
How to wind a bobbin and thread a machine with confidence
Understanding and adjusting machine tension
Sewing foundational stitches
Constructing open and closed seams
Finishing raw edges with precision
Edge stitching and top stitching techniques
Sewing curves and corners cleanly
Constructing a clean turned hem
Using a professional press stud kit and hardware tool
