About the Film:
Jimpa is an uplifting, intergenerational family tale that resonates deeply. Filmmaker Hannah (played by Olivia Colman) journeys to Amsterdam with her trans nonbinary teenager Frances (Aud Mason-Hyde) to connect with their beloved grandparent, affectionately known as Jimpa (John Lithgow). The desire for Frances to spend a year abroad with Jimpa prompts Hannah to reevaluate her parenting beliefs and confront long-buried memories. This film humorously navigates through moments of joy and sadness, celebrating LGBTQ+ culture and touching on themes of love, loss, and end-of-life wishes.
