Junior Camp 'Global Explorers: Maths, Maps and the Treasure Hunt Project'

Pack your bags for an exciting adventure! This engaging camp blends mathematics, exploration, and problem-solving into travel-themed challenges designed for eager young minds. Through hands-on activities, games, and puzzles, children will enhance their logical thinking and decision-making skills on a journey of discovery.

Participants will embark on an imaginary expedition, tackling real-life scenarios such as:

• 🗺️ Reading maps and calculating distances
• 💰 Managing a budget by estimating hotel costs and comparing travel deals
• ⏰ Understanding timetables and estimating travel times
• 🕵️‍♂️ Decoding messages in unfamiliar languages

Exciting games and problems will aid children in honing their skills with charts and tables while learning about compound measures like speed and cost per mile.

Additional Camp Highlights:

• 🤖 Programming: Discover the fun of coding while learning about debugging – a process where each child checks their work to find solutions. New coding projects are developed for every camp.
• ⚙️ Electronics Class: Dive into circuitry and magnetic fields while building a working model of a metal detector for the Treasure Hunt Project. Campers will learn how their detector sends out an electromagnetic field and how to identify treasures.
• ♟️ Chess Learning: From beginners learning the basic rules to more advanced players mastering strategy, children will enhance their skills in this exciting game, known to improve results in maths and sciences.

This five-day camp runs from 9 AM to 12 PM or 1 PM to 4 PM (but not both). Each day consists of four classes, complete with breaks for snacks and refreshments.

With a small pupil-to-teacher ratio of 6 to 1, each child's learning experience is tailored to meet their age and skill levels, ensuring an engaging and educational environment.
