Dive into Japan’s record-breaking epic that unveils the world of traditional Kabuki theater. Kokuho follows a young man's profound devotion to art through his journey of ambition and identity, leading him to become a true "national treasure."

Set in Nagasaki, 1964, the story centers around Kikuo, a 14-year-old boy taken under the wing of a renowned Kabuki actor after his father’s passing. As Kikuo and Shunsuke, the actor's son, dedicate themselves to the theater, their paths intertwine through decades of scandals, glory, brotherhood, and betrayals.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sang-il Lee (known for Pachinko), Kokuho is an awe-inspiring cinematic experience, beautifully showcasing the sacrifices required to achieve perfection in performance. It was also nominated for Best Makeup and Hairstyling at the 98th annual Academy Awards.
