Kolibrí Festivaali - Opening 2026

Kolibrí Festivaali 2026! | Community — Long Live Community 💥SAT 29.8., Kolibrí Opening at OODI, Maijansali Töölönlahdenkatu 4, Helsinki Kolibrí Festivaali (www.kolibrifestivaali.org) celebrates the 15th edition's Opening at Oodi Library with a special multilingual interactive children's event featuring our special guests- Trio Mandeng and our first ever youngest artist: Rio Saarto! The celebration begins with the magical movements of Rio Saarto (Finland/Peru) born in the same year as Kolibrí. Rio will perform Follow the River, a choreography in which movement flows forward like a running river, playing with rhythm and changing directions. The festivities continue with Trio Mandeng: Maarika Autio (Finland), Adama Kone (Mali), and Mohamed Bangoura (Guinea). Through live music, the delicate melodies of the kora harp and balafon transport audiences to a magical world where trees can speak, and dragons love the sound of drums. The concert draws inspiration from the ancient Mande music and storytelling traditions of West Africa. Join us in celebrating Helsingin Juhlaviikot with the whole family and discover the spirit of Kolibrí 2026. This free event will bring together the entire Kolibrí community.
