Le Grand Théâtre Mécanique
Street theatre for all ages — The Grand Mechanical Theatre
In 1900, a machine was built for the Universal Exhibition in Paris — and it hasn't stopped since. Le Grand Théâtre Mécanique Denino — the Grand Mechanical Theatre — is a real system of gears hidden inside a box, within which an entire theatrical world beats. An Italian-style auditorium with 700 seats, just in pocket format. Latecomers. Ushers, stagehands. Three knocks, the curtain rises — and actors no taller than a thumb flash across the stage.
Each performance admits exactly ten spectators. Four children, six adults. Twenty-five minutes looking into a world where everything is scaled down to the level of a dream — and yet incredibly real.
Suitable for children ages 6 (or at least 110 cm tall) and up and their parents.
