As a protégé of the iconic George Benson, Whitfield made his mark in the early 1990s, becoming a prominent voice in jazz. His impressive credentials include collaborations with music legends such as Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, Christian McBride, and Dianne Reeves. His body of work showcases a range from straight-ahead jazz to contemporary fusion, all anchored by outstanding musicality and rhythm.
