Michael Malis Quintet

Join us for an unforgettable evening featuring Michael Malis, a talented composer, pianist, and educator hailing from Detroit, MI. 🌟 Known for his multifaceted artistry, Michael seamlessly blends jazz performance with innovative compositions and multidisciplinary collaborations.

In July 2020, he released Dualisms, a multimedia masterpiece that showcases his original compositions along with contributions from saxophonist Kaleigh Wilder, percussionist Thom Monks, and vocalist Denzel Donald. The project, which includes stunning artwork by Zara Teicher, received high praise from All About Jazz for its creativity during the pandemic.

Malis is also known for his captivating piano pieces, including the acclaimed Three Pieces for Piano. Over the years, he's collaborated with various prominent musicians and ensembles, being commissioned by institutions such as Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
