NATURAL DYE PLANT WORKSHOP
Join us for an exciting workshop at the Gil Hodges Community Garden 🌼, where you'll dive into the vibrant world of natural dyeing! Participants will learn how to craft beautiful blue dye from Indigo and discover how to dye fabric with this rich color. We'll also explore the historical and cultural significance of this textile practice in Latin America.
This event is suitable for all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Our sessions aim to celebrate and continue uncolonized Pre-Columbian traditions from Black and Indigenous communities in South Florida and Latin America, while allowing for contemporary exploration.
Led by the talented Diana Eusebio @dianaeusebiostudio, this workshop promises to equip you with invaluable skills and knowledge for a lifetime!
A big thank you to Genevieve and the NYRP team for their generosity and dedication. All materials will be provided!
