Opening of the 2026 spa season

A gala concert marking the opening of the spa season in Mariánské Lázně, which will offer an exceptional evening featuring works by the most important Czech composers.

The concert will open with the energetic overture to Bedřich Smetana's opera The Bartered Bride – one of the most beloved Czech operas, whose stirring music will immediately draw listeners into the festive atmosphere of the evening.

The first half of the concert will also feature a selection of arias from operas by Bedřich Smetana and Antonín Dvořák, showcasing the beauty of Czech opera and providing a platform for the impressive vocal artistry of soloist Adam Plachetka.
The highlight of the evening will be Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 8 in G major, Op. 88, often called "English". This symphony is one of the composer's most joyful and colorful works, and with its melodic richness and inspiration from the Czech landscape, it perfectly concludes the festive opening of the new spa season.
