About the Event:
From 1966 to 1969, the Overton Park Shell was home to the annual Memphis Country Blues Festival, an event that brought together both white and black artists. These festivals celebrated the remarkable contributions of blues icons like Furry Lewis, Bukka White, and Reverend Robert Wilkins, and worked to address the historical injustices faced by these artists.
