Park View 4U's Big Butterfly Count

Join us on 5th August for the Park View 4U Big Butterfly Count! 🌼 Be part of the Butterfly Conservation Trust's Citizen Science project, the world's largest butterfly survey, aimed at assessing our local environment for wildlife.

Butterflies are vital pollinators and respond quickly to environmental changes, making them key species for monitoring biodiversity.

Event Details:

• Sessions: 1pm & 2pm
• Location: The Pod - Community Centre

During the event, you'll receive information about butterflies at Park View Playing Fields, learn about pollinator-friendly plants, and discover the best spots to observe them. You'll also get an identification and recording sheet.

Explore the kitchen garden, woodlands, and areas of the park where butterflies are frequently spotted with our Park Rangers. Observe butterflies and, if lucky, some day-flying moths, then record your findings.

Afterward, return to The Pod to get creative and make your own butterfly from natural materials to take home! 🎨

• All proceeds will support butterfly-friendly planting at QEII Park View Playing Fields, enhancing our green space for local biodiversity. 🌿
