Pigeon Circle: Eldest Daughter Core (The Burden of Being "The Good Daughter")

Sobre el evento

Join us for a women-only journaling and listening circle specifically designed for the eldest daughters among us.

You don't need to be an eldest daughter to resonate with the feelings of becoming "the good daughter":

  • The responsible one.
  • The dependable one.
  • The one everyone counts on.

In many Asian households, these roles become so ingrained that we often stop questioning them. We learn to:

  • Anticipate others' needs before our own.
  • Keep the peace.
  • Be grateful.
  • Avoid being a burden.

Over time, caring for everyone else can quietly become intertwined with our identities.

This evening, we invite you to reflect on the following prompts:

  • How has trying to be a "good daughter" shaped who you are today?
  • What expectations do you place on yourself that haven't been explicitly asked of you?
  • When did being "the good daughter" cease to feel good?
  • What would self-care look like for you this season?

Through guided journaling, thoughtful questions, and small group discussions, we will create a supportive space for women who often prioritize others. 🌟

What to Bring:

  • A picnic/yoga mat (Compulsory)
  • Your favorite journal & writing materials (Compulsory)
  • Water / Hydration
  • Insect Repellent (Optional)
  • Feel free to bring dinner or snacks for yourself

📍 The exact beach location will be shared with confirmed guests.

Important Notes:

  • Please arrive on time. Late arrivals can disrupt everyone's experience. If you are more than 30 minutes late, your registration will be considered forfeited.
  • Come with an open mind. You’re not required to share everything, but we expect everyone to be present, respectful, and engaged.
  • Say hello! Many come alone, and a simple introduction can positively impact the atmosphere. Everyone plays a role in fostering a welcoming community.

🌙 A Note:
Pigeon Circle serves as a listening and journaling circle, not a therapy or support group. We believe in the power of slowing down, reflecting, and listening to one another with care.

By attending, you acknowledge your voluntary participation and agree that you are responsible for your own health and wellbeing during the session.

📸 Photos and videos may be taken for Screaming Pigeons' social media. If you prefer not to appear, please inform your host before we begin.
