📅 About Dr. Memory Biwa: A historian and artist straddling Windhoek and Berlin, Biwa’s research highlights oral histories, aurality, and sartorial expressions of anticolonial resistance and genocide in Namibia. She explores memorialization and reparative processes through public commemoration and technology, delving into migration histories across the !Garib riverscape.

📚 Biwa has a doctorate in Historical Studies from the University of the Western Cape and has held positions focusing on sound archives and listening practices at the University of Cape Town. Her collective, Pungwe Listening, has received recognition via grants and awards, having showcased installations at prestigious venues including the Dakar Biennale and Germany's Völklinger Hütte.
