Pop-up tour: Understand Denmark

You may already live here — but understanding Denmark is something else entirely.

On this 2-hour pop-up walking tour, we go beyond the usual history and sights to explore the ideas, values, and systems that shape Danish society today. This is not a traditional sightseeing tour — it’s a conversation about how Denmark actually functions.
We’ll walk through central Copenhagen and use the city as our classroom. Along the way, we’ll talk about topics like:

Why Danes trust each other (and their government) How the welfare state really works
Why people are willing to pay high taxes The role of monarchy in a modern democracy
Danish culture, social norms, and everyday life And yes — what’s going on with Greenland, and our relationship to the United States

This tour is designed for curious, thoughtful people who want to understand the country they are living in — not just observe it.

After the tour you are welcome to join for an informal dinner with the other participants and the guide.

Your guide is Jens Frahm-Rasmussen who, before becoming a guide, worked 10 years in Human resources in the City hall of Copenhagen, the Ministry of Integration, and Copenhagen University.
