Project a Black Planet: Composing Sonic Futures

Sobre el evento

How can music be a catalyst for world-building? Join us for an enlightening discussion among talented music artists who will explore how sound can serve as an essential tool for envisioning our futures.

Music and sound have historically facilitated dialogue and information exchange between communities, crafting shared languages that resonate across the globe. The music-making process can be expansive, collaborative, and improvisational, drawing from both lived experiences and ancestral wisdom. Together, we will create sounds that invite all to join in a communal experience, enriching our collective world-building.

Featured Speakers:
DJ and curator JJESS will lead a conversation with anaiis, Roxanne Tataei, and THABO, where they will share insights into their world-building processes and the new realities they create through music and sound.

The discussion will be followed by small bites provided by Garden of Afruika, located on the Conservatory Terrace, Level 4.
