Few things can breathe soul into a historic space quite like live music — and nowhere does music feel more at home than within the walls of a church. Gospel, with its deep roots in hymns and spirituals, carries an unmatched energy of hope, joy, and collective spirit.
The Rainbow Gospel ensemble honors this rich tradition while giving it a fresh, open, and contemporary voice. Alongside timeless spiritual compositions, the group weaves in a modern repertoire that leaves audiences moved by its remarkable vitality and infectious enthusiasm. Their vibrant, colorful performances speak for themselves — as visible in every note they sing.
Rainbow Gospel previously joined forces with Open House Prague in May 2024 at the Autoklub ČR, and for this year's festival edition, they have crafted a special program exclusively for the Hus Congregation in Vršovice.
This performance takes place at the Hus Congregation Chapel in Vršovice (Vršovické nám. 967/1) — a historically and architecturally significant complex designed in part by the celebrated Czech architect Pavel Janák. The complex includes a prayer hall, residential spaces, communal rooms, and the MANA Theater hall.
The event has been made possible through the generous support of Vršovice's pastor, Mr. David Frýdl, a devoted steward of this exceptional heritage site.
This concert is one of the highlights of the 12th annual Open House Prague festival (May 18–24, 2026) — a city-wide celebration that unlocks Prague's most fascinating buildings and spaces for everyone to explore.
