Salsa By The Lake

Salsa By The Lake is a free outdoor salsa social held on selected Saturday or Sunday afternoons, mainly in summer and fall, at the historic Edoff Memorial Bandstand in Lakeside Park beside Lake Merritt in Oakland.

The music centers on salsa, especially Cuban salsa and timba. Dancing is DJ-led, with occasional live music when scheduled; a live band is not guaranteed.

Admission is free, and all ages are welcome. Nearby paid parking is available. AC Transit line 11 stops at Harrison and Grand, line 12 at Grand and Bellevue, and NL at Grand and Perkins.

The gathering does not run every weekend and is weather dependent, so bring water and sun protection.
