Shut Up & Write!™ West LA - Cafe Laurent - Mar Vista

Join fellow writers for an hour (or up to ninety minutes) of blissful, uninterrupted writing! 🖊️ Whatever your project—be it fiction, non-fiction, poetry, memoir, PR, or script writing—come and scribble at Cafe Laurent, located at 12034 Venice Blvd., in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Settle into our reserved table on the lovely covered patio. We kick things off at 10:00 AM sharp, so arrive a few minutes early to enjoy a delicious treat or breakfast! 🥐

Format:

• 9:50 AM: Intros and get settled
• 10:00 AM: Write for a pre-determined time
• After Writing: Share a few sentences if you wish, discuss writerly questions, struggles, or successes!

🌟 Don’t worry about being late or leaving early—this is a casual gathering, and we’re thrilled to have you join! Plus, no need to RSVP through MeetUp; just show up!

Important Note: There is NO Internet access at the cafe, so be prepared to use your personal hotspot or another connection. The only time our MeetUp is canceled is on all Monday holidays!

Parking:

Nearby parking is available at the corner of Grand View and Venice in front of the post office, although it is pricier than street parking, which is also an option.

✨ Please support our lovely hosts with a purchase! Everything is delicious, the service is superb, and their coffee is perfect. Cafe Laurent is truly one of my favorite spots in LA, open daily from 8 AM to 3 PM.
