The Al & Leon Shim Sham is a reinterpretation of the classic Shim Sham, brought to life by the renowned dancers Al Minns and Leon James. Unlike Frankie Manning’s more recognized version, this unique interpretation showcases distinct styling and rhythmic creativity that embodies Al & Leon's vibrant personalities. 👑

Who Were Al & Leon?

Al Minns and Leon James were integral figures of Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers, the iconic swing dance troupe from the 1930s and 40s. As ambassadors of Lindy Hop and jazz dance, they greatly contributed to the preservation and transmission of the African-American jazz dance legacy. Their enduring charisma and musicality continue to motivate dancers globally. 🌍
