South African Potjie in the Park

Join us for a delightful Potjie Cook-Off! 🌟 Gather your friends or come solo to whip up your very own scrumptious potjie from scratch – no pre-cooking allowed! 🥘 Make sure to arrive early so your dish can be served by 2 PM.

If you don't have a potjie, feel free to bring along side dishes like rice, bread, or even a sweet dessert to share! 🍚🍞 Remember to pack all necessary equipment and ingredients to create your potjie masterpiece. You may use coals, depending on fire bans, so check with the park beforehand. ⛺️ We recommend those handy camping butane gas stoves on flat-bottom potjies as a fantastic alternative. Just keep in mind: all fires must be off the ground per park rules. ⚠️

Don’t forget to bring your drinks, cutlery, and chairs! 🥤🍽️

Judging Guidelines:

1. Register on-site if you're competing 🍽️
2. Receive your allocated cooking number
3. Present a sample for judging (maximum a cup full)
4. Judging will be blind*–no bribes accepted! 🚫💸
