Super Saturday at the Garden! – Pollinators

Celebrate the incredible world of pollinators at this month’s Super Saturday! Join us for hands-on activities, guided walks, and family-friendly fun as we explore the bees, butterflies, birds, and other essential pollinators that help our gardens and ecosystems thrive.

Please note, the schedule may be subject to change, and thunder and lightning will cancel all events at the Garden.

• 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Garden Guardians - Help steward the Garden site.
• 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Garden Tour - Explore the Botanical Garden of the Piedmont on a guided tour. Group size limited to 16 for a more personal experience. Please register in advance!
• 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Summer Poetry Walk - Stroll through the Garden and view excerpts of nature-inspired poems.
• 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Explore to Read - Discover enlarged storybook pages along the garden trails.
• 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM: Butterfly Walk - A guided tour to explore native butterflies and the plants they thrive on. Led by local naturalist Nancy Weiss.
• 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Pollinators in the Garden - Uncover the critical roles that bees, butterflies, and other pollinators play in our ecosystem (Ages 5+).
• 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Music in the Garden – Enjoy a free classical music performance by Felicity Music! Bring chairs or blankets as seating is limited in our mini amphitheater. In case of rain, the performance will be under the tent.
• 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Buzz Pollination - Learn how certain bees use vibrations to release pollen from flowers and why this unique process is essential for many plants we cherish (Ages 10+).
