Tending the Webpage

Sobre el evento

Join us for a hands-on workshop designed for the design- and code-curious! Together, we will build and nurture tools using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to cultivate a shared webpage.

What if a website could be watered? Pruned? Left to overgrow? In this workshop, participants will create interactive tools that leave their mark on a collective garden of a live webpage, using gardening as our metaphor.

Workshop Overview:

  • Demo: Explore references, inspiration, and enjoy a quick demo!
  • Brainstorming: Develop concepts independently and receive feedback in pairs.
  • Coding: Set up your project and engage in hands-on coding with HTML/CSS/JS.
  • Playing: Combine everyone’s code and test it live—let the fun (and chaos) commence!

🚀 Learning Outcomes:

  • Translate non-digital concepts into code using gardening metaphors.
  • Understand the relationship between HTML, JS, and CSS.
  • Adapt existing code or write new code to achieve desired effects.
  • Gain confidence in finding documentation and resources to troubleshoot.
  • Collaboratively create a live website to experience together!
