EVIDENCE & ABSENCE
A writing workshop by The Writer’s Blocc
Every day we save things.
Screenshots. Photos. Messages. Memes. Quotes.
Most of them seem insignificant, but something about them made us stop and think: “I want to keep this.”
A screenshot is evidence that something caught our attention. But evidence is rarely the whole story.
What happened before that moment?
What happened after it?
What sits outside the frame?
What can’t be seen?
In this workshop, we’ll use screenshots and saved images as a starting point to explore the stories hidden behind the things we keep.
Together we’ll explore attention, perspective, omission, and the gap between what is shown and what is understood.
We’ll look at how small fragments can point towards larger stories, and how what’s missing can sometimes reveal as much as what’s present.
Whether you write poetry, fiction, essays, scripts, songs, or you’re simply curious about storytelling, this workshop is open to all levels of experience.
Just bring yourself, your phone, and something to write with.
