Artist Biography:
Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1952, Patrick Parise has been a prominent figure in Columbia, SC for over five decades. His artistic journey began early, inspired by his mother, a painter and art historian. Parise attended Bethany College for painting and studied printmaking under Boyd Saunders at the University of South Carolina. He has built a diverse career, establishing his own etching studio and expanding into painting, sculpture, mixed media, and custom design work.
Patrick’s accolades include solo exhibitions at notable Columbia galleries such as Vista Studios, City Art Gallery, and Stormwater Studios, alongside international recognition from the Saatchi Gallery’s Your Studio Competition. His artwork has been commissioned for various private and public projects throughout South Carolina, including significant installations and gifts for foreign dignitaries.
