Sobre el evento

Join us for a beginner-friendly technical workshop that provides an overview of TouchDesigner! Learn how to navigate the software, set up node networks, utilize operator families, and create generative artwork.

Note: This workshop covers similar techniques to the first one. If you attended the first workshop, some content may be redundant, but it could also serve as a good review. You might consider waiting for the next intermediate workshop if you're looking for more advanced material.

This workshop is designed for those eager to learn a new style of visual programming. Come ready to explore and leave with a solid understanding of TouchDesigner and your first piece of generative artwork!

Instructor: Andrew Butcher
Andrew is a computational new media artist and creative technologist, actively involved in the Bay Area TouchDesigner community. He teaches workshops in the East Bay and is currently the artist in residence at California College of the Arts.

Andrew's work explores how technology alters our perception of space and our relationships, often through interactive installations, audiovisual performances, and video games. He delves into themes of world-building, speculative generative design, and the manipulation of scale, using generative software, machine learning, and custom code to examine traditional art themes like light, space, form, and color.
