826LA@Hammer: Stories in Our Hands: Object-Based Memoir

À propos de l'événement

Join us for a unique memoir essay workshop where participants will bring a significant object from home—be it a photograph, keepsake, book, or everyday item—and use it as a gateway into their personal stories. ✍️ Through guided sensory prompts and creative writing exercises, students will delve into how their chosen item relates to their background, family traditions, identity, and hopes for the future. The workshop will culminate in a celebratory share-out, honoring each student's voice, imagination, and sense of belonging.

🤝 Led by the talented Margaret Chandra Kerrison, an accomplished author known for her recent essay collection Los Angeles Lost and Found. She brings a wealth of experience as a creative consultant, having collaborated with Disney Imagineering and prominent design agencies to shape immersive storytelling.
