A Midsummer Night's Dream Auditions

Join us for auditions for the Why's It Gotta Be? Theater Group's upcoming production of A Midsummer Night's Dream! This enchanting comedy unfolds across two worlds – the vibrant court of Athens and a mystical forest that lies beyond the city's borders.

This gender-blind casting aims to highlight queer themes, delving into the irrationalities of love, desire, friendship, possession, jealousy, and magic.

✍️ REGISTRATION

Please register for auditions at wigbtheater.org/auditions. Auditioners must be 18 years or older by September 1, 2026, and everyone is encouraged to participate, regardless of potential scheduling conflicts.

🎤 AUDITIONS

Auditions will take place at the parish hall of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, located at 126 Main St., Easthampton, MA, in four ~90-minute blocks on:

• Thursday, July 23 at 6:00 PM & 7:30 PM
• Sunday, July 26 at 1:00 PM & 2:30 PM

You only need to attend one session. If you cannot make any of these times, please indicate this when registering, and we'll do our best to accommodate you. Prepare 1-2 sides available on our website for your audition!

📅 REHEARSALS

Rehearsals kick off the last week of August, occurring twice a week in Easthampton and Northampton, MA, lasting about three hours each. Note that casting is dynamic; not everyone will be needed for every rehearsal until mid-October. For more rehearsal details, please check our website. When registering, mention any dates or times you are unavailable from August 30 through November 14.

The Midsummer Night's Dream will be showcased from November 6-14 at Unity House in Springfield, MA, on select Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 2:00 PM & 7:30 PM. For further performance specifics, please visit our website.
