Alvalade: Fortnightly FastForest® Meetup

🇬🇧 Our baby plants need a lot of love and maintenance as they get through their first few months in their new home. Join us as we mulch, weed, water and have fun along the way with new friends from the Urbem tribe at our Alvalade mini-forest.

Why join us? This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your community, learn about native Portuguese plant species, and contribute to a greener Lisbon. Open to the whole family.

Plus, spending time in the soil is good for you. Research shows that microorganisms found in soil can help release serotonin—the "happiness hormone"—in our brains. Come get your free dose of nature-led joy!

What we will be doing
Our activities change with the seasons but generally include:

• Nurturing: Watering and providing nutrients to young trees.
• Maintenance: Careful weeding and pruning to support growth.
• Biodiversity: Removing invasive species to give our native plants space to breathe.

Event Details

• When: Every other Saturday at 10:00 to 13:00
• Meeting Point: Rua Alfredo Mesquita
• What to bring: A reusable water bottle, clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, sturdy shoes/boots and sun protection.
• What we provide: All necessary gloves, tools, and plenty of positive energy!
