As a Professor of Psychobiology & Epidemiology at University College London, Dr. Fancourt heads the Social Biobehavioural Research Group. Her groundbreaking research delves into the impact of social behaviors—such as loneliness, arts engagement, and social prescribing—on overall health. With over £30 million in research funding and 300 peer-reviewed papers, she has established herself among the top cited scientists worldwide.

🌍 Dr. Fancourt authored the World Health Organization's global evidence review on arts and health, synthesizing over 3,500 studies to inform policy across 53 countries. She also leads the WHO Collaborating Centre on Arts and Health, providing advisory support both to the WHO and the UK government.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she directed the UK’s largest study on the psychological and social impacts, contributing significantly to an international mental health research network. Her esteemed contributions to the field are recognized through numerous awards, including the British Science Association Award for Arts & Sciences and the title of BBC New Generation Thinker.
