Bachtale Apsa: lahůdky nejen z romské hudby
The band Bachtale Apsa, which translates to “Happy Tears,” is one of the leading Romani bands today.
Since 2010, they have performed hundreds of concerts both at home and abroad—not only in European countries, but also in places like Algeria and India. What is typical of this group? The power and diversity of musical emotions that Romani music has evoked in listeners since time immemorial, reflecting both the joys and sorrows of everyday life. The band draws heavily on the music of Balkan, Hungarian, Spanish, and Slovak Romani communities. Of course, classic czardas are also included. However, the repertoire consists not only of traditional Romani music but also original compositions by Mário Bihári and Peter Horvát. In Bachtale Apsa’s music, Romani melodies thus blend with rumba, flamenco, swing, funk, and other styles.
