Join us for the Memphis debut of the Back Alley String Band at South Main Sounds!

The band, a talented trio from North Mississippi and Memphis, brings a delightful mix of bluegrass, old-time Appalachian, jug band, Irish traditional, hill country blues, and jazz. Enjoy both original tunes and beloved covers!

Meet the Band:

• Andy Ratliff: Guitar, banjo, and mandolin. With a decade of experience as a touring and session musician in Nashville, he infuses the band with a rich knowledge of roots music.
• John Kveen: Plays electric and upright bass. A seasoned session musician, he's collaborated with notable artists like Squirrel Nut Zippers and participates in projects linked to the Music Maker Foundation.
• John Kilgore: Guitar, ukulele, vocals, and recording engineer. He’s involved with Memphis-based bands and has worked at Zebra Ranch, Jim Dickinson's famed studio.
