Braiding Sweetgrass Sharing Circle (Epiphany in the Beans)
Legacies of capitalist, extractivist colonialism have made connection to the land difficult in so many ways. In this bi-monthly sharing circle, we hope to co-create a supportive space for us to explore and heal our relationships to “nature” together. We'll do this through slow practices, such as sharing our reflections and savouring words from visionary writers. We begin with Robin Wall Kimmerer’s ‘Braiding Sweetgrass', which we have been slowly reading since 2023.
On Sunday 28th June, we'll be reading chapter 12 ‘Epiphany in the Beans’.
In this sharing circle, we hope to:
✩ˎˊ˗ co-create a nourishing, gentle environment for building connections and intergenerational healing
✩ˎˊ˗ explore, deepen, reclaim, and re-imagine our relationships to land and to “nature”
✩ˎˊ˗ celebrate the abundance of life all around us and within us (and to hold space for those of us that aren’t able to access these feelings right now)
Please note:
A copy of the book is not required, but feel free to bring it along if you have one.
You don't need to have co-read previous chapters with us in order to join this session!
This event is only for BIPOC who are either within the LGBTQI+ community or an ally.
