"Bring Boat Racing Back to Sarasota" Boat Parade

Hey everyone! 🙌 I'm reaching out with more passion than ever for an event that's close to our hearts. It's time to bring back the Sarasota Powerboat Races, which have been a beloved tradition in our community! 🎉 Just like with Midnight Pass, a few voices have overshadowed the majority who want to see our races thrive.

We all cherish the 4th of July race weekend—a highlight for many Sarasota residents! 🗳️ It's crucial that we stand together and advocate for what we love.

I'm organizing a boat parade to raise awareness and show the community just how much these races mean to us. If you have access to any type of boat—whether it's flats boats, center consoles, raceboats, or even yachts—you're invited! Let's gather our entire boating community to make this event a success. ⚓

We will meet along the ICW in New Pass, near MarineMax and the Old Salty Dog, and head east through the ICW and north to Big Pass Inlet. 🗺️ I’ll share a parade route map as the date approaches.

Here’s what we aim to achieve:

1. Show decision-makers the significance of the 4th of July race weekend to our community.
2. Prove that with a large turnout of boats, we can maintain a respectful, safe, and community-focused atmosphere.

This boat parade will replace Zacko’s Killin It Sandbar Party this year, as we put our emphasis on something bigger and more meaningful! 🎈 Since it falls on Saturday, July 4th at 11:00 AM, many of you likely have plans to be out on the water. Join us, support the cause, and carry on with your weekend! 🥳
