“Using the etude method, we aimed to invent, experience, and understand together what Europeans felt and endured in the first half of the 20th century. What drove them to emigrate? Was it an economic crisis, world wars, political coups, persecution, lost love, or simply the desire for a better life in the Promised Land? These stories highlight a brave group of individuals who transformed their lives, leaving everything behind to embark on a long journey by ship with an uncertain destination. From this group emerged what we now know as Argentine Tango, and we dedicate our performance to these remarkable people,” explain the creators of the show.
