Butoh workshop / Sumako Koseki (Jap)

À propos de l'événement

🌌 Dive Into the Art of Butoh 🌌
Join renowned Japanese dancer and choreographer Sumako Koseki for an immersive Butoh workshop that explores the depths of physical and mental expression.

💭 Understanding Butoh:
Butoh is often misunderstood; it’s not merely a dance of ghosts or something terrifying. Instead, it’s a journey seeking light within darkness, a way to perceive brilliance more intensely amidst shadows. As Koseki beautifully puts it, this dance embodies a quest for illumination in murky realms.

🌀 Workshop Highlights:

  • Physical training focused on breath and Ki energy.
  • Imagination exercises unlocking animal instincts, ancestral connections, and the concept of emptiness.
  • Evoke bodily memories and awaken your subconscious and collective memory.
  • Move towards a state where chaos gives birth to movement with clear rhythm and structure.
  • Participants will have the unique opportunity to present a performance under Sumako's guidance at the end of the workshop!

👤 Who Can Join?
This workshop is open to all who wish to explore the connections between body and mind, especially artists and students from disciplines like performing arts, dance, theatre, visual arts, anthropology, and psychology.
