À propos de l'événement

Our current season of CDR Sessions comes to a close with a special final guest, FAUZIA. For those new to CDR Sessions, each event includes an in-depth, production-focused interview with a guest artist, exploring their career and creative process. The talk is accompanied by openCDR, where producers and artists of all levels and abilities have the opportunity to play their own music on some of the best club sound systems across the UK. All genres and styles welcomed!

FAUZIA is a multidisciplinary artist working across live and recorded music as well as audio-visual installations. A composer, DJ, producer and vocalist, her work challenges the division of genre through an extensive range of musical expression. First breaking out as a DJ via NTS Radio with a show inspired by footwork and jungle, her practice has since evolved into a broader exploration of her influences and tastes. Alongside her radio work, she has contributed mixes for BBC Radio 1, Radio 6, The Lot Radio and Rinse FM, and performed at venues and festivals across the globe including Unsound Festival, Nowadays, Berghain and De School.

Through the pandemic she self-released a series of projects including Fragments, are you hoping for a miracle? and flashes in time, both of which received critical acclaim from Resident Advisor, Crack Magazine, Pitchfork and The Wire. Her discography also includes production work for artists such as Kelela, Duval Timothy and Tirzah, with her remix for Tirzah nominated for Best Remix at the 2022 DJ Mag Awards. Beyond the club, FAUZIA has presented contemporary classical works commissioned by Southbank Centre and King’s Place, performing at institutions including Tate Modern and St Paul’s Cathedral.

Join us for an in-depth conversation with FAUZIA, along with openCDR: your chance to bring along your works-in-progress and hear them played on our sound system. We keep our events as accessible as possible, but if you are able, we would appreciate your support of CDR with a £5 donation ticket. Every contribution helps us continue creating space for producers and artists to connect, learn, and grow.
