Charlie has been a significant figure in the Boston jazz scene for over forty years. He formed the Charlie Kohlhase Quintet in 1989 and has led ensembles like the Explorer’s Club and the Saxophone Support Group, showcasing compositions by jazz greats. Charlie has collaborated with renowned artists and participated in tours across North America, Europe, and beyond. Additionally, he directs ensembles at the Longy School of Music and hosts a jazz radio show.
