Už od roku 2018 se u drinky potkáváme s cizinci co dlouhodobě žijí v Praze a pomáháme jim s procvičováním češtiny. 🥂 Since 2018, we've been meeting with expats who have long-term residency in Prague, enjoying a drink together while enhancing their Czech language skills.

💡 Co to je? // What is it?
This is a meetup for anyone who has spent some time in Prague and is looking to delve deeper into the Czech language. 🌍 Regardless of your background, everyone will be encouraged to converse in Czech.

Our unique approach to language learning draws from Michael Thomas's successful method, using audio recordings with pauses that allow students to form their own sentences. 🧠 This method, supported by various psychologists, emphasizes that your brain retains information better when you actively create content. For example, when you work through a simple numerical task yourself, you're far more likely to remember how to do it later than if you merely memorized formulas.

Our sessions utilize this knowledge to foster a refreshing approach. You might have picked up a few Czech words over the months or years and perhaps have read some literature, or even have a Czech dictionary handy! 📚 Maybe you understand a bit, but feel hesitant or shy to practice in conversation. Don’t worry—everyone here shares similar feelings! Feel free to switch to Spanish, English, or any language you prefer for comfort, and who knows, you might meet someone interesting for a deeper conversation.

We're not here to overwhelm you with homework, tests, or grades! Instead, we provide a cozy, motivating atmosphere in an art gallery accompanied by background music and refreshments, allowing your brain to thrive instead of being dictated by teachers. 🎨
